The basics of running your first conversation with Talq AI.

What is Talq AI?

Talq AI is a voice-first language learning app. Instead of flashcards or silent grammar drills, you have real spoken conversations with an AI tutor that listens, replies in natural speech, and gently corrects your mistakes.

Which languages can I practice?

You can currently practice English, Spanish and French. The app interface is also available in those three languages.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. Conversations run over a real-time WebRTC voice connection, so a stable Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection is required while you are talking with the AI tutor.

Why does the app ask for microphone permission?

The microphone is the only way for you to actually speak with your AI tutor. If you deny the permission, you can re-enable it later from your device Settings → Talq AI → Microphone.

Subscriptions and billing

How Talq Pro works and how to manage it.

What does Talq Pro include?

Talq Pro unlocks unlimited voice conversations, deeper post-conversation feedback, and advanced practice modes. The free tier lets you try the experience with a limited number of conversations.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, never by us directly. To cancel:

iPhone / iPad: open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Talq AI → Cancel Subscription.

Android: open Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Talq AI → Cancel.

Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access to Pro until the end of the current billing period.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the store, not by us:

Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select the Talq AI charge.

Google: open Google Play, find Talq AI in your purchase history, and follow the refund flow.

If the store denies the refund and you believe there was a billing error, write to support@talqai.app and we will help review the case.

I bought Pro but the app still asks me to subscribe

Open the paywall and tap "Restore Purchases". This re-syncs your subscription with the store. If it still does not work, sign out and back in, and make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID / Google account that made the purchase.

Troubleshooting

Most common issues and how to fix them quickly.

The AI tutor cannot hear me

Step 1: confirm the microphone permission is granted in your device settings.

Step 2: make sure no other app (a call, a meeting app) is currently using the microphone.

Step 3: switch from Bluetooth to your phone speaker if you are using a low-end Bluetooth headset; some devices route audio incorrectly.

Step 4: close the app fully and reopen it.

The conversation drops or freezes

Voice conversations need a steady connection. If you are on a weak cellular signal, switch to Wi-Fi if possible. If the issue persists on a strong connection, please send us a report at support@talqai.app with your device model, OS version, and the time the issue happened.

I cannot sign in

Email + password: tap "Forgot password" on the login screen to reset it.

Sign in with Apple: make sure two-factor authentication is enabled on your Apple ID and try again.

Sign in with Google: make sure Google Play Services is up to date on Android.

If none of the above works, write to support@talqai.app with the email you used to register.

The app crashes on launch

Try closing the app fully and reopening it. If the crash repeats, please uninstall and reinstall — your account, progress, and subscription are stored on our servers and will be restored after you sign back in.

Account and privacy

Your data, your control.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account directly inside the app: open Profile → Account Data → Delete Account, then follow the verification and confirmation steps. Your conversations, progress, and profile data are removed permanently.

You can also start the deletion process from the web at https://talqai.app/account-deletion.

Important: deleting your account does NOT cancel an active store subscription. You must cancel it separately from your Apple ID or Google Play account.

How do I export my data?

In the app: Profile → Account Data → Export My Data. You will receive a downloadable ZIP with your profile, conversations, and progress in a portable format.

Are my conversations used to train AI models?

No. Your conversations are processed only to power the app experience (replies, corrections, vocabulary). They are not sold to advertisers, not used to train external AI models, and not shared with third parties beyond what is strictly necessary to run the service. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
